People are our greatest resource here at Radius Logistics. We have an incredibly talented and diverse team that are at the heart of our 3PL operations. From Customer Service, Rates, International and more, we have close knit teams to handle your business’ most important function- getting your product safely and efficiently from A to B (wherever that may ‘B’).
We want to introduce you to one of our awesome team members today!
Meet Amber! Amber comes to us from Saskatoon where she lived for 19 years. Originally she was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia but moved to the prairies at age 6. Amber obtained her Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing from the University of Saskatchewan in December 2019. She made the choice to move back to British Columbia shortly after to start her career and is glad she did!
We asked Amber a few questions to help you get to know her better:
How did you find your position at Radius Logistics?
I found my position at Radius through a recruiter that reached out to me after applying to a different role on LinkedIn. She thought I would be a good fit for this position at Radius and forwarded my application to the team here!
Tell us a bit more about what you do here!
As the sole Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, I wear many hats. I collaborate with management to create an overall marketing strategy for Radius, write and create social posts across several channels, and act as an administrator and support for the sales team. I also work on ad-hoc projects such as Microsoft Teams implementation and rolling out the new online phone system company wide.
What is your favourite thing about working at Radius?
My favourite thing about working at Radius is the awesome team. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful, and we love to laugh.
What made you decide to move all the way to Metro Vancouver from Saskatoon?
I had thought about moving to a bigger city for years. I love the excitement of the hustle and bustle and all the career opportunities that come with it. I was craving a new adventure and decided that it was the perfect time to move after graduation. So here I am!
What is your greatest achievement and how has that shaped you?
My greatest achievement is my term as Vice President of Social Events on my student society during university. I was able to lead a team of 8 event directors planning over 15 events for the students of the Edwards School of Business. This role was incredibly challenging and tested me in every way possible, but through those tests I learned that I am resilient and capable of many things. That being said, the role was also very rewarding, and I truly enjoyed seeing my team’s hard work come to life and the personal growth of everyone involved.
What are some words of wisdom you would give to your younger self?
Don’t compare yourself to others. You are unique, bright, and on your own path. That path may look different than other’s, but that does not affect your journey to success. Push forward and never give up!
What types of hobbies or interests do you pursue after work?
I love cooking so you can often find me trying new recipes from different cultures. I also love to dance and have been taking up online dance fitness classes lately! You’ll often find me exploring new places outdoors or trying a new restaurant or brewery.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
Hanging out with Elephants at an ethical sanctuary in South East Asia is high up on the list. They are so sweet and intelligent!
Last question- what is your favourite emoji?
The clapping hands emoji 👏 and the crying laughing emoji 😂…
I use both far too often!
