Welcome back to our meet the team Monday blog series! At Radius Logistics, we are lucky enough to have dedicated employees who have been with us since our inception and have grown with us as a company. We want to introduce you to one of our longest standing employees, Giselle, our International Coordinator. Giselle was recently honored for 10 years of dedication to Radius Logistics. She is passionate about finding the right solutions for her clients by going the extra mile to make their logistics seamless and streamlined. Giselle is a true testament to the great work being done by the Radius Logistics team.
Meet Giselle!
1. Tell us about yourself…
My parents are from the Philippines, but I was born in Winnipeg. We moved to BC when I was 10 and I grew up there. Family is priority #1 for me. Being a proud mother to my 15 year old son and a wife keeps me grounded and busy. When I have spare time, I enjoy singing, dancing, keeping fit and working on crafts – especially when it’s for the staff holiday party!
2.What do you do at Radius Logistics?
I’m one of Radius’s longest standing employees – ten years! I started back when Radius Logistics was International Freight Link and grew with the company. Up until three years ago, I was the Customer Service Supervisor. Radius decided to expand overseas, and I was brought in to grow our international department.
I manage and coordinate our international freight, and work to grow our current international clientele and projects through strategic relationships. Essentially, our sales team identifies our clients needs and I work to find an efficient and cost effective solutions to meet their needs, capturing international business. Many of our clients are unaware that we coordinate shipments internationally, but we do, and it’s an exciting challenge.
3. What do you love most about your job?
I love my job because of the great people and welcoming culture I get to be a part of everyday. It’s like having an extended family. Working in international markets is fascinating. I have the opportunity to meet people from all around the world and learn about their unique cultures and customs. Building relationships and establishing trust among various markets while working with different languages is fulfilling.
4. If you could travel to one place by air freight, ocean freight or ground freight, where would it be and which method of transportation would you choose?
I tend to be really impatient when travelling – so I would have to say air freight, it’s the quickest way to get overseas. I’ve always wanted to go to Spain with my husband. We are both foodies, and Spain has a long history with the Philippines that I find really interesting.
5. If you were stuck on a desert island and could only have 1 item couriered to you by Radius Courier to you – what would it be?
Thinking practically, I’d say an inflatable boat, or a survival kit – just get me off the island.
6. If you could pick your dream car to be transported to you- what would it be?
Hmm that’s a tough one, but I would go with the McLaren P1. I love fast cars! It’s no surprise that I am a big fan of The Fast & Furious series.
7. What’s your go to travel song?
I don’t have a specific song but I would say any 90’s Hip Hop or R&B will get me moving.
