Get to know Candace!
1. Tell us about yourself…
I came to Radius 5 years ago, after pursuing a degree in criminology to become a police officer. Growing up in Aldergrove, I was really involved in the local sports community. I love sports of all kinds, but my favorites are rugby, lacrosse, and football. I’ve been playing rugby since I was 15, and even played on the under 19 Canadian national team.
2. What do you do at Radius Logistics?
I took over the role of Customer Service Supervisor after a year with Radius. Currently, I lead six Customer Service Representatives in our department. Each of them takes care of specified customers. We track their shipments, deal with issues, and take a personal approach to handling each of our accounts. Our clients are never just a number. They’re given their own representative who is personally invested with their business.
3. What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love most about my job is that no day is ever the same. There are so many unforeseen circumstances that can arise in the freight business. When factors out of our control come into play, we have the opportunity to come up with creative solutions for our clients. It’s this out of the box thinking that keeps me motivated every day.
I need to mention that I love that I get to work with the people at Radius everyday. Our small team makes my job more than just work. I’m excited every morning to go in and see my colleagues.
4. If you could travel one place by air freight, ocean freight or ground freight, where would it be and which method of transportation would you choose?
I would probably choose to travel by air freight. It’s the fastest of the options, and I like to get the traveling part over with quickly. The first place on travel list right now is Africa. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of going on a safari, and I’d love to travel to the continent for several months and help out in a local community.
5. If you were stuck on a desert island and could only have 1 item couriered to you by Radius Courier to you – what would it be?
I think I would go crazy alone on an island if I didn’t have something to listen to. So, I would have to say that I would want a radio or I-Pod to keep me preoccupied.
6. If you could pick your dream car to be transported to you- what would it be?
Ever since I was a kid I’ve wanted a Matte Black Dodge Viper. I just think they look so cool!
7. What’s your go to travel song?
I don’t have a go-to favorite song. I’ll listen to whatever compliments the mood I’m in. I like all genres and artists, but if I’m driving I usually prefer something a little more laid back.
